Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Martini.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Angela. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Shkodër, Albania during a time of political instability as communism started to dissolve in the region. In my early childhood, I experienced kidnapping attempts, neighborhood violence, and at one point, a short stay in a refugee camp. My mother was concerned about my safety, at the time so she sent me to Switzerland to live with my father at the age of ten. After leaving Albania, I lived a lonely childhood, often feeling neglected and isolated from the outside world. During these years, I began dreaming of building a better life—a dream that often seemed impossibly out of reach.

At the age of 21, I wanted to pursue a career in modeling so I boarded a one-way flight to Miami. I walked into a modeling agency in Miami Beach and the very next day, I was signed and working as a model. Three months later, I was signed by Elite Model Management in NYC and I quickly started booking campaigns. In 2010, I was crowned Miss Universe Albania and a few weeks later, without a hairstylist or makeup artist, I placed sixth in the competition – the highest finish for any Miss Albania in history!

The competition catapulted my celebrity status throughout Europe and allowed me to cement a successful modeling career. Throughout the years, I’ve explored several business ventures including a swimwear line, but I’ve now shifted my creativity and outlook on life and I’m focusing more on finding a deeper sense of self. This year I am debuting two short films, Fusion and A Way Out, where I combine fantasy, spirituality, and humanity to piece together complex themes into cohesive narratives.

I’ve also just launched my memoir, Love Hope Light. In my book, I reveal an intimate part of myself through my life experiences and the difficult lessons I learned along the way. The lived experiences revealed in the book inspired me to become a certified life coach in 2017. Today, I’m in love with my new path and am excited for what’s to come!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
If your goals are high, it can never be a smooth road to achieve them. Inevitably, on your way to success, you will face obstacles, disappointment, discouragement, and a huge amount of work as I have. On the road to reaching my goals, I experienced it all, but I have learned some life lessons that really gave me strength and helped me along the way. You need to have patience. You really need to have the will to succeed, and sometimes you need to pass through darkness in order to find the light!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m a multifaceted creative. I used to model professionally and participated in beauty pageants and managed different business ventures. Today I produce movies, I’m a life coach and a published author. I’m continuously trying to externally express my inner energy and the soul – the real me! Right now, I’m focused on the launch of my book, Love Hope Light, as well as my video productions. I think what might make me different from others is the multitude of creative activities I am involved in, along with how I express my thoughts and ideas about life and our existence. It all stems from my life experiences.
